Our Story

In 2010, Erica Sokol, a University of Florida student, began volunteering at UF Health Shands Hospital. Witnessing the loneliness of pediatric patients, she initiated a buddy program pairing college students with these children. This compassionate effort blossomed into StudentsCare, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 2013, dedicated to connecting healthcare students with hospitalized children and isolated seniors across the nation.

Our Impact

StudentsCare enhances emotional well-being and healthcare outcomes by fostering meaningful connections. Thousands of interactions have alleviated loneliness and improved the quality of life for vulnerable populations.
