For over 40 years, the String Orchestra of the Rockies has stood as Montana’s premier conductorless string orchestra. Founded by Sarah Avery and Russell Guyver, this unique ensemble brings together 15 of the finest string players from the state, creating a collaborative musical environment that thrives without a conductor. Despite facing early challenges, the orchestra has continued to flourish, offering master classes and performances that enrich the cultural landscape of Montana.
