Our Story
In December 2013, a small group of compassionate individuals, led by Max Ramsey and David Nelson, embarked on a mission to support the unhoused community in Milwaukee. They packed snacks, sandwiches, and coats into a mini-van and ventured to the Central Library, a known refuge for those in need. What began as a simple act of kindness quickly evolved into a dedicated outreach initiative. Today, StreetLife Communities boasts over 40 outreach volunteers and 90 support volunteers, providing essential medical care and survival resources to more than 2,600 individuals each week, including unhoused individuals, sex workers, and those affected by trafficking.
