Our Story

Street Corner Resources (SCR) was founded in 2005 by community activist Iesha Sekou in response to the alarming rise of gun violence and gang activity among Harlem's youth. This nonprofit organization aims to engage young people by providing essential resources and positive alternatives to violence. Through workshops, a strong street presence, and the establishment of the first I AM PEACE Music Studio in a Harlem High School, SCR has become a beacon of hope in the community.

Our Impact

SCR's initiatives, including the Cure Violence program in Central Harlem, offer vital services such as Professional Mental Health Services, Employment and Education Services, and Legal Aid. These programs are designed to support and uplift the youth, creating a safer and more empowered community.
