Our Story

Street 2 Street emerged from a vision ignited by the events of September 11, 2001. Founders Woody and Renee Woodfin traveled to New York City to support teenagers affected by the tragedy, only to discover a deeper issue: at-risk youth facing challenges long before that fateful day. The inaugural Street 2 Street tournament in Brooklyn in August 2005 brought together over 150 teens, providing them with a moment of recognition and celebration on the court. Since then, Street 2 Street has expanded its reach to urban communities across the United States, fueled by passionate kids, dedicated volunteers, and generous donors.
