Our Story
Karina Canales, a dedicated animal advocate from Peru, founded the Stray Animal Project with a vision to combat the staggering overpopulation of stray dogs and cats in her home country. With over 12 million animals living on the streets, often in dire conditions, Karina's journey began in January 2019. Initially funded by her own resources, the project spayed and neutered 26 animals, but with the support of generous GoFundMe contributors, the impact grew exponentially. By partnering with local rescuers and veterinarians, the project has successfully spayed and neutered over 25,000 animals to date.
Our Impact
Stray Animal Project has transformed the lives of countless animals, preventing suffering and promoting responsible pet ownership.
