Strawberry Fields
EIN: 25-1237223 · State College, PA
Our Story
Founded in 1972 out of love for children with intellectual disabilities, Strawberry Fields began on a farm in Yarnell, PA. At that time, families faced the grim reality of placing their loved ones in state-operated facilities, which were known for segregation and isolation. Strawberry Fields was created by families, for families, to provide a supportive environment where individuals can thrive.
Over the years, Strawberry Fields has evolved, overcoming challenges and celebrating milestones while remaining committed to its core mission. The organization has grown to offer a variety of programs and services tailored to the needs and choices of those it serves, empowering families and individuals to lead fulfilling lives.
Our Impact
Today, Strawberry Fields supports over 600 children and adults through 17 residential and community-based programs in Centre County, PA. With 53 individuals in 16 residential programs for adults with Autism, intellectual disabilities, and mental illness, the organization also provides 8,500 hours of mental health case management services to 380 individuals and 5,000 hours of support and therapy to 240 children in Early Intervention services.
