Strasburg-Heisler Library
EIN: 23-2062033 · Strasburg, PA
Our Story
In 1969, the Strasburg Area Women’s Club recognized the need for a local library, leading to the establishment of the Strasburg Reading Center in a single room of the former Lutheran Manse. Over the years, the library has evolved, moving to various locations, including the Shroy House and the current site at 143 Precision Ave. The library proudly bears the name of its benefactor, Mr. Kenneth Heisler, who, along with Mrs. Abram Keener, played a crucial role in its development.
Impact on the Community
Despite receiving funding from state and local municipalities, the library operates on a budget that only covers two-thirds of its needs. This shortfall limits the library's ability to adapt to the community's evolving requirements.
