Founded in 1983 by dedicated Stow residents, the Stow Community Chest was created to streamline the funding process for local social services. This all-volunteer organization operates with a mission to support the community by raising funds and allocating them to various nonprofit service providers. Each year, the Board of Directors conducts a fundraising campaign, ensuring that the needs of Stow residents are met through effective and efficient funding.
In the 2023-24 campaign, the Stow Community Chest raised an impressive $83,459, benefiting 16 local nonprofit organizations, including the Stow Food Pantry and Minuteman Senior Services. These funds support a wide range of services for residents of all ages, from healthcare to social services. Additionally, the SCC funds special projects, such as providing secure enclosures for NARCAN, enhancing community safety and health.
