Our Story

Since 1970, Stopover has been dedicated to responding to the needs of at-risk youth in Indianapolis. Originally starting as a host home program, it has evolved to provide a comprehensive range of services aimed at helping young people escape homelessness. The mission focuses on sheltering and guiding youth and young adults from homelessness to housing stability, healing, and hope.

Between 2018 and 2019, there was a remarkable 22.4% reduction in the number of youth and young adults experiencing homelessness in Indianapolis, showcasing the effectiveness of community action and Stopover's impactful programs.
