Community Engagement Through Theatre

Our Story

In 1996, Maureen Miko envisioned a neighborhood-oriented theatre that would bring the community together. Inspired by the fable of Stone Soup, where everyone contributes to create something wonderful, Stone Soup Theater was born. Located on Stone Way, this theatre embodies the belief that every actor and audience member adds an essential ingredient to the theatrical experience. Now entering its 28th year, Stone Soup Theater continues to thrive thanks to the unwavering support of students, friends, and patrons.

Impact

Stone Soup’s educational programs focus on equipping young actors with the tools they need to shine on stage. With a process-oriented teaching approach, the emphasis is on collaboration, imagination, and ensemble building. The goal is to create a positive environment where creativity flourishes, sparking imagination and fostering a sense of community through the magic of theatre.
