Our Story

In 1989, Kim and Stew Leonard, Jr. faced an unimaginable tragedy when they lost their 21-month-old son, Stewie, to a drowning accident. This heartbreaking event ignited a passion to prevent similar tragedies from affecting other families. The Stew Leonard III Water Safety Foundation was established to provide essential resources and education on water safety.

Impact

With the opening of the first Stewie the Duck Swim School in Norwalk, Connecticut, the foundation aims to provide at least 20,000 free swimming lessons each year, significantly reducing the risk of drowning among children.
