Our Story

Step Up Suncoast, formerly known as Manatee Community Action Agency and Manatee Opportunity Council, has been a beacon of hope since 1968. Originally incorporated as a nonprofit in Florida, it began with a modest budget of $90,000, serving just 510 children. Today, it has expanded its reach, providing over 11,000 services annually across five counties: Charlotte, DeSoto, Hardee, Manatee, and Sarasota. With a dedicated team of 250 staff members, Step Up Suncoast is committed to transforming lives through education and community partnerships.
