Our Story

StartCare is a community-focused, Black-founded and BIPOC-operated organization dedicated to delivering compassionate care to New Yorkers since 1969. With six community-based locations across New York, StartCare provides comprehensive support for individuals, families, and communities, focusing on addiction recovery and mental health care.

Impact

Since its inception, StartCare has served over 64,000 people, providing care to 3,405 individuals in 2023 alone. The organization has secured over $4.25 million in research funding in the last five years, showcasing its commitment to improving community health outcomes.
