Start The Adventure In Reading (STAIR) was founded over 30 years ago in New Orleans and expanded to Annapolis in 2006. Initially a mission of the First Presbyterian Church of Annapolis, STAIR-Annapolis has grown to serve over 100 students with the help of more than 200 volunteer tutors, providing one-on-one reading support to first and second graders in Anne Arundel County.
STAIR-Annapolis helps young readers achieve success through stronger literacy skills and increased academic readiness, significantly improving their chances of graduating high school and pursuing higher education.
