Starlighters II Theatre

Our Story

Founded in 1974 in Monticello, Iowa, Starlighters II Theatre emerged from the vision of a high school student, Ron Ketelsen, who recognized the need for more live theatre opportunities in the community. With the support of educators Bob Furino and Emil Prull, the first production took place in 1975. Over the years, Starlighters II has expanded its reach, becoming a regional hub for theatre arts, with active membership spanning six counties. Celebrating its 50th season in 2024, Starlighters II is dedicated to delivering high-quality live theatre and educational programs for all ages.
