Our Story

Stand Tall International was founded in 2013 by Masha Balovlenkov and Jason Smith after witnessing the dire need for medical care in Moshi, Tanzania. During a volunteer trip, Masha encountered 11-year-old Benson Mushi, who suffered from spinal tuberculosis and lacked access to necessary surgery. After facilitating his treatment in Ghana, the founders recognized the profound impact that changing one child's life can have on an entire community. This experience ignited a passion to continue providing life-saving surgeries and support for children in need.
