Our Story
The Stamford Land Conservation Trust was founded in 1972 with a mission to preserve and protect open space for the benefit of the community and the sustainability of our environment. With over 450 acres of open space currently under stewardship, SLCT manages 57 preserves ranging from small 1-acre plots to the expansive 164-acre Altshul Preserve. Additionally, SLCT is part of a collaborative effort that holds an environmental easement over a section of the Mianus River State Park known as 'Treetops'. This commitment to conservation not only enhances the natural beauty of Stamford but also supports biodiversity and ecological health.
