Our Story
Stage Center began in the fall of 2011 when four passionate artists—Emily Kitchens, Seth Taylor, Jared Watson, and Missy Wise—recognized a gap in the cultural offerings of Northwest Louisiana. With a community rich in opera, ballet, and symphony, they envisioned a year-round professional theater company that would cater to a broader audience, particularly young adults seeking engaging content akin to 'Netflix' culture.
Determined to create a vibrant theater scene, Stage Center and its School of Performing Arts were born. The mission was clear: to curate a diverse range of productions appealing to all demographics. The inaugural season featured just four productions, but the response was overwhelmingly positive, leading to a doubling of shows in the second season. Over the past eleven seasons, Stage Center has produced an impressive 81 live stage productions, consistently breaking box office records and solidifying its impact on the local community.
