Our Story

St. Stephens Creative Learning Center was established in 2005 by a visionary pastor of St. Stephens A.M.E. Church, who recognized the urgent need for improved education in the Essex community. Collaborating with a former school principal, the center was designed to provide a nurturing environment that emphasizes early education. From a humble beginning with just six Kindergarten students, SSCLC has blossomed into a thriving institution serving children from Kindergarten through fifth grade, with plans to expand to eighth grade in the near future.
