Our Story
The St. Paul Art Collective (SPAC) was founded in 1977 by a passionate group of artists in the Lowertown district of St. Paul, a neighborhood once filled with empty lots and abandoned warehouses. This organization was established to educate the public about Minnesota artists and to encourage the creation of new artwork. As the neighborhood transformed, SPAC played a vital role in protecting creative spaces and raising awareness of the essential contributions artists make to the cultural fabric of the Twin Cities.
