Our Story

St. Mary’s Catholic School, established in 1899 in West, TX, has a rich history rooted in the community's desire for a quality Catholic education. Founded by Czech parishioners of the Assumption Church, the school began with a two-story frame building that served as both a school and living quarters for the Sisters of Divine Providence. Over the years, the school has evolved, now offering education from Pre-K to 8th grade, with a dedicated team of teachers and staff committed to nurturing the spiritual and academic growth of students.

Impact

Through the #iGiveCatholic initiative, St. Mary’s has successfully raised over $100,000 for essential projects, including restroom renovations and air conditioning upgrades. The addition of a GaGa Ball pit in 2021 and the replacement of outdated playground equipment in 2022 and 2023 have significantly enhanced the school environment, bringing joy and comfort to students. These improvements reflect the community's commitment to providing a nurturing and engaging educational experience.
