St. Luke's Mobile Medical Ministry
EIN: 45-3786377 · Shreveport, LA
Our Story
St. Luke’s Episcopal Mobile Medical Ministry was inspired by The Reverend Ken Cooper, who envisioned a solution to the healthcare crisis faced by the poor in Northwest Louisiana. Drawing inspiration from St. Anna’s Medical Ministry in New Orleans, Fr. Cooper recognized the urgent need for preventive health screenings and basic healthcare services. In 2007, he purchased and converted a van into a mobile medical unit, launching services in late 2008. Although Fr. Cooper passed away shortly after, his vision lives on through a dedicated board of directors and a passionate team of volunteers.
Impact
In 2023, St. Luke’s held 253 clinics, serving 1,986 individuals, including 204 homeless individuals.
