About The Alverno Senior Care Community

Founded in 1914 by the Sisters of St. Francis, The Alverno Senior Care Community has been a cornerstone of elderly care in Clinton, Iowa. Originally named Mount Alverno, the facility has evolved over the decades to meet the changing needs of the community. In 1971, a new building was opened, licensed for 125 residents, and the name was changed to The Alverno Health Care Facility.

Commitment to Quality Care

With a focus on providing complex nursing care, The Alverno has adapted its services to ensure that seniors receive the best possible support. In 2017, The Alverno became the first senior community in Iowa to achieve the prestigious Gold Quality award from the American Health Care Association, joining an elite group of senior care organizations nationwide. This achievement follows previous recognitions, including the Bronze level in 2003 and Silver level in 2010.

Trinity Health Senior Communities, which oversees The Alverno, serves over 4,000 seniors across more than 20 communities in the United States. The Alverno is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seniors and their families, providing long-term living options, memory care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation services.
