St. Joseph Missions

Our Story

St. Joseph Missions began with a dedicated group of Catholics on a mission to feed the homeless. They noticed the same faces returning, which ignited a calling to provide more than just meals. Recognizing the lack of emergency shelter for single women, they formed a board and obtained nonprofit status. After relentless effort, the shelter opened its doors on Lake Ave. on June 8, 2021. Today, it serves as a safe haven for up to 18 women each night, responding to daily calls from those in dire situations.

Impact

In 2024 alone, St. Joseph Missions has already assisted 50 women, establishing itself as Fort Wayne’s first 24/7/365 emergency shelter for single homeless women. This initiative provides a supportive environment for those who need it most.
