Founded in 2004, The Cathedral School is dedicated to nurturing young minds in a supportive and faith-based environment. Located in Jacksonville, Florida, this early learning center has transformed an unoccupied building into a vibrant educational space, fostering a love for learning among its students.

Our Journey

The journey began when Saint John’s Cathedral purchased a building at 330 North Market Street. With a vision for an early learning center, a planning committee was formed, leading to the hiring of Headmistress Gretchen Titshaw and administrator Marlo Hunt. Extensive renovations took place, transforming the space into a welcoming environment for children.

On September 8, 2004, The Cathedral School opened its doors with just eighteen students and eleven staff members. Remarkably, enrollment grew to fifty-two students by May 2005, showcasing the community's support and trust in the school's mission. By January 2005, the school was self-supporting, exceeding expectations and eliminating reliance on external funding.

With a focus on early childhood education, The Cathedral School has achieved 35 consecutive perfect inspections by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF). This remarkable record reflects the school's commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to thrive.
