Established in 1951 with the blessing of St John of Shanghai, the St John Benevolent Fund began with the Orphanage of St. Tikhon of Zadonsk in Shanghai, China. After relocating to San Francisco, the Fund has continued its mission to care for needy children and support various humanitarian causes.
