St. Edward Home

Our Story

The Village of St. Edward was founded over 50 years ago by dedicated Catholic activists, Mrs. Germaine Karg and Mrs. Anna Doran Walsh, who recognized the need for a Catholic home for the aged in Akron. With the support of Catholic Charities and the Sisters of St. Dominic, they opened the St. Edward Nursing Home for the Aged in 1964. Today, the organization serves over 400 older adults, emphasizing community, care, and respect for all residents.
