Founded in 1968, St. Ambrose Housing Aid Center, Inc. was established to combat the discriminatory practices of redlining and blockbusting that marginalized homebuyers of color. Over the past 50 years, this nonprofit has dedicated itself to creating and maintaining equal housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income individuals in Baltimore City. With a commitment to social, racial, and economic justice, St. Ambrose has expanded its services to meet the evolving needs of the community, impacting over 130,000 families and fostering strong, diverse neighborhoods.
