Spreading Sunshine was founded by Abigail Sacran after her son David was diagnosed with Down syndrome. Moved by the kindness her family received during their challenging times, Abby initiated the first Sunshine Box for a young girl undergoing heart surgery. This heartfelt gesture resonated widely on social media, leading to the birth of Spreading Sunshine. Our dedicated staff and volunteers share personal experiences with childhood illness, fueling their passion to support families in need.
