Empowering Youth Through Sports

SportsPower International is a nonprofit organization founded by Bill Alexson, who has dedicated his life to using the influence of professional athletes to inspire youth. With a rich history rooted in sports, Bill's journey began with his father, Andrew 'Doc Alexson', a former Brooklyn Dodgers player. Bill himself played professional basketball in Greece and has served as a chaplain for the Boston Celtics for over 20 years. Today, he leads SportsPower, which has reached over 68 international cities in 25 countries, delivering messages of hope and resilience.

At SportsPower events, NBA players share their personal stories of overcoming adversity, encouraging youth to make positive choices. Recently, the organization conducted 122 school assemblies in Baltimore City, focusing on anti-drug, anti-violence, and anti-bullying messages. These impactful events culminated in a thrilling game at Coppin State University, attended by 3,000 fans who were inspired by the athletes' words.

With commendation letters from the Governor's office, Mayor's office, and Police Commissioner, SportsPower's mission resonates deeply within communities. Bill's vision is to expand this initiative globally, reaching more youth and fostering positive change through sports.
