Our Story

Founded in 1980 by Elise Long, Spoke the Hub Dancing began as The Living Room Performance Space in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Over the years, it has evolved through various locations, including the Gowanus Arts Building and the Gowanus Arts Annex, before finding its home at the Re:Creation Center. This organization has a rich history of supporting independent artists and providing community arts programs.
