The Spirit of Harmony Foundation was established in 2013, inspired by Todd Rundgren's commitment to music education. It began as a response to the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan, where fans of Rundgren raised funds to assist those affected. The foundation's mission is to advocate for music education for children, particularly in public schools, by building sustainable networks of support for music programs.
