Founded on April 2, 1990, the Severna Park Assistance Network, known as SPAN, was established to address the growing need for emergency assistance in the Severna Park area. Concerned local ministers recognized that families in crisis were struggling to find help, often going from church to church. SPAN was created to provide a single, dignified resource for those in need, offering support in a convenient location.
