Our Story

Southwest Educational Partners for Training (SWEPT) was established in response to the 2008 economic downturn, focusing on creating pathways to the formal labor market for New Mexico residents affected by the construction sector collapse. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, SWEPT recognized the urgent need to address the systemic inequities that hinder economic mobility for low-income communities of color. By redesigning adult education and training programs, SWEPT connects underemployed individuals with employers in high-demand sectors such as K-12 Education, Behavioral Health, Pre-Occupational Training, and Information Technologies.

Impact

SWEPT empowers low-income residents to access sustainable career opportunities, breaking cycles of poverty and disenfranchisement.
