Our Story

Founded in 1964, the Southwest Neighborhood Assembly (SWNA) is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for residents in Southwest Washington, DC. With a focus on inclusivity and equal opportunities, SWNA has evolved from the Southwest Citizens’ Association to address various community needs through task forces and initiatives.

Impact

SWNA has successfully engaged over 12,000 residents through programs aimed at enhancing education, health, and community welfare. Initiatives like the Computer-for-Kids program have graduated over 160 students, bridging the digital divide and providing essential skills for youth.
