In October 2000, residents of Hyde Park and Roslindale united to combat rising housing costs. They formed the Southwest Boston Community Development Corporation to foster affordable housing and economic development. Since its incorporation in 2001, SWBCDC has focused on building community relationships and addressing immediate needs.
