Established in 1975, the Southern Region Emergency Medical Services Council, Inc. (SREMSC) serves as a vital resource center for emergency medical services across southcentral and southwestern Alaska. Covering an expansive area of 192,369 square miles, SREMSC supports over 100 ambulance and first responder services, ensuring that even the most remote communities receive essential care.

Since the inception of the Code Blue program in 1999, SREMSC has successfully collaborated with various funding sources to provide millions of dollars in EMS equipment to rural Alaskan communities, significantly enhancing the quality of emergency medical services.
