Our Story

The Southern Alliance for People and Animal Welfare (SAFPAW) has been dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for both people and pets in Davidson County, Tennessee, since 1998. This nonprofit organization focuses on serving the homeless community and those living at or below the poverty level by providing essential pet services and support. SAFPAW operates a spay/neuter transport service, offers veterinary care, and assists with basic pet care needs. Additionally, the organization runs a homeless outreach program that helps individuals regain necessary identification, secure housing, and provides essential supplies for survival.

Impact

SAFPAW has successfully fixed and vaccinated over 10,000 dogs and cats in Davidson County, Tennessee. Each year, the organization helps 160 homeless pets find permanent indoor homes through its foster program. By delivering thousands of pounds of pet food and emergency supplies, SAFPAW significantly improves the lives of both pets and their owners.
