Our Story

The South Shore Pet Food Pantry, originally founded in October 2016 as the Weymouth Pet Food Pantry, is dedicated to helping individuals and families in South Shore, MA, during challenging times. By providing supplemental pet food, resource referrals, and education, the organization aims to keep pets and their owners together, especially when budgets get tight. This all-volunteer initiative was started by a group of passionate women in animal rescue who recognized the urgent need for pet food assistance in their communities.

Our Impact

The primary focus of the South Shore Pet Food Pantry is to provide pet food assistance through partnerships with local food pantries. By distributing cat and dog food, offering low-cost veterinary referrals, and educating the community about the importance of the companion-animal relationship, the SSPFP enhances the health of pets and their owners while reducing shelter surrenders.
