Our Story

Founded in August 1989 by a dedicated group of 20 individuals, South Salem Seniors has grown to over 800 members, providing a vital support network for seniors in the community. Initially operating from rented spaces, the organization moved to its permanent home at 6450 Fairway Avenue in August 2002. Since receiving its 501(c)(3) status in 1991, South Salem Seniors has thrived through the hard work and commitment of its volunteers, relying solely on member contributions and fundraising activities.
