Our Story
The South Plains Food Bank is a humanitarian organization dedicated to serving West Texas by providing a helping hand to those experiencing food insecurity. Established in 1983 by Lou and Ray Diekemper, this organization has grown to serve 19 counties with the support of over 9,000 volunteers annually.

With a commitment to community engagement and empowerment, the South Plains Food Bank has served over 100 million nourishing meals, clocking over 40,000 volunteer hours each year. This demonstrates a strong community commitment to fighting hunger.
