Our Story

Founded in 1970, South of Market Child Care, Inc. (SOMACC) has been a vital resource in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood, dedicated to serving low-income, recent immigrant, homeless, and at-risk families. What began as a small program for 30 children has blossomed into a major early childhood education institution, now supporting nearly 130 children and over 500 families annually.

Impact

SOMACC serves nearly 130 infants, toddlers, and preschoolers at two child development centers each year, along with over 500 families at its family resource center. The organization provides quality early care and education, coupled with comprehensive family support services.
