Our Story
The South Mountain Conservancy is committed to the stewardship and preservation of the South Mountain Reservation, a stunning 2,110-acre public land in Essex County, New Jersey. This organization focuses on maintaining the park's natural beauty and ecological health while advocating for sustainable practices and engaging the community in vital conservation efforts.
Our Impact
Through various restoration projects, including forest regeneration and trail improvements, the South Mountain Conservancy has significantly enhanced the ecological health of the Reservation. Increased community engagement is evident, with numerous volunteers participating in conservation activities, and successful fundraising events like the Mayapple Trail Runs, which raised $8,100 for stewardship efforts.
