Our Story

Founded by Nick Ferraro and Ashley Rittle, South Hills Pet Rescue & Rehabilitation Resort began as a boarding and training facility in 2012. The couple's journey into rescue started unexpectedly when they were asked to help a local animal rescue overwhelmed with dogs from high-kill shelters. Initially agreeing to take in 13 dogs, they found themselves caring for 62 dogs in need. This pivotal moment ignited their passion for animal rescue, leading to the establishment of South Hills Pet Rescue, an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

Our Impact

South Hills Pet Rescue has successfully found loving homes for thousands of dogs, providing shelter and rehabilitation for those suffering from abuse or neglect. The organization is dedicated to saving dogs from euthanasia and ensuring they receive the care they deserve.
