Our Story
In the 1940s, Rowena Mays and M.E. Moody made a generous donation of land, paving the way for the first hospital in Plant City. This act of kindness ignited a community movement, leading to the establishment of South Florida Baptist Hospital, which opened its doors on December 29, 1953. Over the years, countless individuals and organizations have rallied to support the hospital, culminating in the formation of the South Florida Baptist Hospital Foundation in 1995. Since then, the Foundation has successfully raised over $16 million to enhance healthcare services.
