Our Story

The South Farmingdale Fire Department was established in 1961 by a group of dedicated citizens who recognized the urgent need for organized fire protection. This 100% volunteer organization has been serving the communities of South Farmingdale, Farmingdale, and Massapequa Park for over six decades, responding to more than 1,100 emergencies each year.

Impact on the Community

In 2021 alone, the department responded to 955 emergency calls, including 515 for Emergency Medical Services. The trained volunteers provide essential pre-hospital care, significantly enhancing the community's safety and emergency response capabilities.
