About South Coast Sailing Team
The South Coast Sailing Team (SCST) is a dedicated volunteer-led organization that has been fostering youth sailing for over 40 years in Dana Point Harbor, California. Through its Mariners Jr. sailing program for youth aged 12-13 and the Mariners 936 Sea Scouts sailing program for teens aged 14-18, SCST empowers young sailors to develop essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience.
Impact of SCST
Nearly 450 youth have participated in SCST’s programs, many of whom have pursued further education at maritime academies or joined the United States Coast Guard. The skills learned through sailing extend beyond the water, equipping youth to face challenges with confidence.
