Our Story
Founded in the late 1980s by Bob Phibbs, the South Coast Chorale emerged as a beacon of inclusivity, uniting individuals from diverse backgrounds through the power of music. With roots in the LGBTQ community, the Chorale has always embraced everyone who shares a passion for singing and social connection. The inaugural rehearsal took place in April 1990, marking the beginning of a journey that would see the Chorale grow into a vibrant community of nearly 60 members.
Impact
Today, the South Coast Chorale is proud to contribute nearly 10,000 volunteer hours annually, enhancing community partnerships and fostering connections through song. The Chorale's artistic programming continues to expand, featuring new works that celebrate the interconnectivity of all communities.
