Founded in 1970 by dedicated residents of the Chatham and Avalon Park communities, South Central Community Services, Inc. emerged to address the critical lack of mental health services for children facing emotional and behavioral challenges. Originally a special education school, the organization has transformed into a vital human service agency, adapting its mission to meet the evolving needs of the metropolitan Chicago community.
